Highlighted Events

Regular Events:

Wild About Playtime  – This event will be taking a break during the Summer Reading Program, last session is Monday, May 22nd, 2017.

Swing on over for drop-in playtime on Mondays  from 10:00 am- 2:00 pm in the children’s room.  The toys and activities set up will be appropriate for babies- preschoolers. For information call 349-5309.

Kids Art Class – This event will be taking a break during the Summer Reading Program, last session is Monday, May 8th, 2017.

On the second Monday of every month at 6 pm, children ages 5 – 12 are invited for a night of art fun.  Please bring an old shirt with you to wear since we may be using paint.  For more information call the library and ask for Amy at 349-5309.

Tot Time –  This event will be taking a break during the Summer Reading Program, last session is Tuesday, May 23rd, 2017.

On Tuesday nights at 6:00 pm is Tot Time which is a Mother Goose on the Loose program geared towards babies- preschoolers.  The program incorporates nursery rhymes, songs, instruments, and stories.  Parents are encouraged to participate with their child.  At the end of the program families are encouraged to stay and play.  Contact Amy at 349-5309 for more information.

Story Time –  This event will be taking a break during the Summer Reading Program, last session is Wednesday, May 24th, 2017.
A preschool program for ages birth to 6 years old. Join Miss Amy for stories, songs, and very cool crafts. Story Time happens most Wednesdays at 10:30 to 11:30 am.  Contact Amy at 349-5309 for more information!

L.E.A.P. (Literacy Education Assistance Pups) Program: Read to the Dogs – This program will continue through the summer.
Drop in anytime between 6:30-7:30 pm Thursday nights and read to Bailey, Barnabas, Chase, Cuddles, Flood, Forrest, Gidget, Hope, Jackson, and Tank. Open to children of all ages – come in to practice your reading and have a tail-waggin’ good time! L.E.A.P. nights are most Thursdays from 6:30-7:30 pm. ABCmouse.com- At the library toddlers- children can play on ABC mouse.  ABCmouse.com helps kids learn to read through phonics, and teaches lessons in math, social studies, art, music, and much more.

 

Yearly Events & Special Activities

The Summer Reading Program
A 10 week program from June to August that encourages kids to read. There are cool events each week such as crafts, acting, magic shows, and programs by great performers!  For reading the kids will earn a free book at 10 hours, a coupon bag at 20 hours, and prize tickets for every 5 hours read.  Open to children and teens from birth to age 12.
