The Greenwood Library is hosting a 3-part series of workshops about Emergency Preparedness conducted by Patricia Heineman from the University of Delaware Center for Disability Studies and Patricia Young, Chair for Delaware Libraries and Disasters Initiative (DLDI). The first workshop on Monday Sept. 11th will cover the creation of an Important Document Binder. Participants can bring important documents they wish to organize. The second workshop on Monday Sept. 25th will deal with the many aspects of creating an emergency plan, including how to shelter at home and the third session on Monday October 9th will help participants learn how to stay informed about emergencies. Each session will provide valuable hands-on experience and the actual taking of steps to become better prepared.
This program is free and open to all. Registration is required for each session. While participants are encouraged to attend all, it is not a requirement. To register: visit greenwood.lib.de.us, call the library at 302-855-1242 or drop by.
This program is designed to raise awareness of the need for disaster preparedness and to provide tools and tips to carry out that preparation.
