How does summer reading work?
Sign up at the library or online at Start Reading! READ! READ! READ!

Your library card gives you access to hundreds of thousands of books, graphic novels, magazines, audiobooks, and more. You can also read books that you own. Any & all reading counts including listening to audiobooks, or reading to children. Books do not need to be from the Greenwood Library to count.

Log your time at home, on a mobile device, or on a library computer. Logs will be available at the library to help keep track of hours.

Important Dates

  • End-of-program prize winners will be announced at the end-of-summer party on Thursday, August 8th at 6:00 p.m. (Need not be present to win.)

There will be a weekly trivia contest in the library. Stop by the Summer Reading Program table and submit your answer for a chance to win a $15 Barnes and Noble gift card and a free book. The winner of the weekly contest will be announced each Monday at 1pm.


  • For every 5 hours of reading logged, you will be issued a virtual end-of-program prize raffle ticket on your Beanstack account. You will be given the opportunity to designate which of the three end-of-program prizes you would like to try for.
  • Weekly winners of a tote bag full of goodies will be drawn on Mondays @ 10am for the previous week’s (Monday through Sunday) raffle tickets.
  • Only one weekly prize will be awarded per participant; however, weekly winners are still eligible for end-of-program prizes so keep submitting raffle tickets!
  • You must have logged at least 10 hours in order to be able to participate in the end-of-program prize drawings.
  • $1.00 of fine forgiveness will also be granted for each week a ticket is submitted.

To claim your prize, stop by the library circulation desk.


Final Party

The Adult Summer Reading final party will be held on Thursday, August 8th, at 6pm in the meeting room. Chef Charles will do a cooking demo of “Out of this World Appetizers” with plenty of samples and end-of-program prizes will be handed out.
