How does summer reading work?
Sign up at the library or online. Start reading!READ! READ! READ!
Your library card gives you access to hundreds of thousands of books, graphic novels, magazines, audiobooks, and more. You can also read books that you own. Any & all reading counts including listening to audiobooks. Future readers can still participate: If they aren’t reading yet, someone special can read to them!

Log Your Reading Time:
Log the amount of time you read at
Log your time at home, on a mobile device, or on a library computer.  Logs will be available at the library to help keep track of hours.

There will be a weekly trivia question in the library that all children can enter for a chance to win a prize.  Winners will be announced each Monday at 1:00 pm.

For each 5 hours read, you will get a raffle ticket that will go toward winning a prize.  Be sure to specify which prize you hope to win by using the prize number.  Once you read 10 hours you may enter for the GRAND PRIZE.

At each milestone (10, 20, 30 hours) a special incentive is awarded:

  • 10 HOURS– Raffle Ticket, FREE Book, Reading Certificate
  • WECEC students will earn a book charm during fall reading assembly at school.
  • 20 HOURS– Raffle Ticket, Coupon Bag, Fine Forgiveness Ticket
  • 30+ HOURS– Double Raffle Tickets
  • Milestones will also be tracked on the bulletin board.
  • To claim your prize, stop by the library circulation desk.
