Introducing Our New Director!

Greenwood Public Library is pleased to announce the newest member of our team, Library Director Melissa Johnson. Melissa joins us with over 20 years of experience working in Delawares Public Libraries!  Her most recent role was Assistant Library Director for the Harrington Public Library where she engaged patrons with diverse, dynamic, educational, and thoroughly entertaining programming. In 2018 she was awarded the esteemed Ada Leigh Soles Memorial Scholarship which allowed her to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree in Library Science and Media from Ashford University (University of Arizona Global Campus).

When she’s not spotted at the Library, Melissa typically spends her time relaxing at her home in Dover overlooking Silver Lake. She enjoys exercising (occasionally practicing aerial yoga), spending time with friends, seasonally decorating her home, attending tea parties, new restaurants, blasting her vinyl record collection, and attending live concerts – with the occasional music festival thrown in. Having a keen fashion sense and special interest in retro/vintage styles, you’re likely to spot Melissa scouring the racks and shelves of thrift shops hoping to add “just one more” dress, skirt, or miscellaneous wares to her collection
