Program Cancellation Policy

It is a priority of Greenwood Library to ensure the safety and well-being of patrons attending library programs. When there is inclement weather, the library will cancel programming according to the following guidelines:

  1. When Woodbridge School District is closed due to inclement weather, all children and teen programs scheduled for that day are cancelled.
  1. In the event that the Woodbridge School District has an early dismissal due to inclement weather, all programs scheduled after 3 p.m. that day are cancelled.
  1. When Sussex County Government issues a closing for its employees all programming for that day will be cancelled.
  1. In the event that Sussex County Government issues an early closing for its employees all programs scheduled after 3 p.m. that day are cancelled.

If you are unsure if a program is going to be held due to the weather, please check the Library’s website and Facebook page or call (302)855-1242 to confirm if programs are still being held. Thank you for understanding!

Definition of inclement weather: Weather conditions that make traveling unsafe or hazardous in some way. This can include but is not limited to: heavy fog; severe wind; rain; sleet; snow; and ice.
